Now that I'm having baby #2, I realized I have all these things that I won't be needing in the next year or so. For one, I don't need to lose weight. NOT yet at least, while I'm pregnant. So I'm saying goodbye to all weight loss supplements and diet plans. Of course, I still need to diet unless I want to look like a whale or have a caesarian.
Stilettos will have to go or stored away too. I've never had any luck wearing them for more than three hours anyway. I still prefer ballet flats or kitten heels if I'm not going to a wedding.
Anything that's not stretchable. I'm going to shop for more lycra and cotton shirts that will enhance the bulging stomach. Gone are the days when maternity wears are designed to cover.
Stress at work and personal life. Household helpers fighting. Too much work. Just enough will do. I'm having trouble keeping up with my deadlines as it is.
I don't have to worry about my skin now. It's never been this clear and fresh looking thanks to hormones.
Of course, I also need to say goodbye to my favorites - cheese (bleu, feta), sushi, baked mussels (limited will do), alcohol - wine and good beer, my three cups of coffee a day.
