When You Suddenly Find Free Time

... you absolutely have no idea what to do with it. Last Friday, I found myself bored to death on my own, after dropping off my daughter to a trick or treating event at her father's office. I had about three hours to kill before I went to my girlfriend's dinner party so I've decided to hit the mall. After roaming for 30 minutes hopping blindly from one shop to another, the fact that I've never had a free time like this hits me. I should be making the most out of it. It was a rare opportunity and who knew when I could do it again. So here's what I did, in order:

Tried on several swimsuits. When you're shopping with a toddler, you don't have the luxury to try everything on.

Checked out the model units of condo properties at the mall. This was my favorite past time before I got married. I just love looking at made up rooms. Some of them even reminded me of the nice Outer Banks rentals that I've been seeing online.

Checked out a spa but decided against it at the last minute. I didn't want to ruin my make up.

A quick coffee and some pretzels while reading ebook through my phone.

Last but not the least, I spent two hours straight at Powerbooks. I've read 3/4 of Serial Kisser and browsed through several photography and travel books. It was heaven I'm telling you. Books can do that to me.
